Zone Fitness Club Rules

To help keep the atmosphere at the Club and create a respectful environment for all, we politely request that the following Club Rules are observed.


1. Club Access

  • Members must sign in at all times using their membership card or the FitSense app.

2. Day Visitors

  • Day visitors must register at the Club in advance or at Club reception before using the gym facilities.
  • The Club reserves the right to refuse admission to a day visitor for health and safety reasons or where the proposed guest has previously failed to comply with the Club Rules.

3. Fitness Areas

  • Club-approved footwear and appropriate clothing must be worn at all times.
  • Footwear must be clean at all times. Any cleaning costs incurred will be passed on to the member.
  • Access to fitness areas may be limited during classes or pre-organised sessions. Details will be displayed on Club noticeboards.
  • Classes must be booked in advance via the app, online, or at reception. Availability without pre-booking cannot be guaranteed.
  • Pre-booked classes that cannot be attended must be cancelled in advance.
  • Failure to attend three consecutive booked classes may result in loss of pre-booking privileges.
  • Members arriving late and who have not completed the warm-up will not be permitted to attend the class.
  • Members must replace and return all equipment they are no longer using to its original storage location, including dumbbells, plates, benches, and other accessories.
  • Dropping or slamming equipment on the floor is prohibited.
  • Members unable to lower equipment safely and gently should request assistance or use a spotter.
  • Any damage caused to the building when using equipment will be the liability of the member, who will be required to settle the reasonable cost.
  • Staff are available to assist with any questions or support required.
  • Bags brought onto the gym floor must be stored on bag racks or in lockers in the changing rooms. All belongings are left at the member’s own risk.
  • Unattended bags on the gym floor where ownership cannot be identified will be treated as lost property.
  • Only Zone Fitness licensed personal trainers may conduct personal training sessions within the Club.

4. Changing Rooms

  • Personal belongings must not be left unattended at any time.
  • All waste must be placed in designated bins and sinks wiped down after use.
  • Lockers must be securely locked when in use.
  • Padlocks are available for purchase at reception.
  • Personal belongings must not be left in lockers that are not securely locked.
  • Lockers must be emptied and left open after use.
  • Lockers are for daily use only. Items left overnight will be removed the following day and treated as lost property.
  • The Club provides separate male and female communal changing and shower facilities. Members must use the communal facilities corresponding to their sex.
  • A private, lockable shower and changing facility is available for use by any member who requires or prefers greater privacy. This facility may be used by one person at a time.
  • Members must respect the privacy, dignity, and personal space of others when using any changing or shower facility.
  • Photography and filming are strictly prohibited in all changing and shower areas. Camera functions on mobile phones and other devices must not be used in these areas.
  • Members are expected to follow reasonable instructions from Club staff regarding the use of changing, shower, and private facilities.

5. Safety & Hygiene

  • Members are advised to wash or sanitise their hands regularly.
  • All equipment must be sanitised after use using the sanitising spray provided.
  • Members are advised to use a fitness towel. These are available for purchase at reception.
  • In the interest of safety and hygiene, no crockery or glasses are permitted in changing rooms, fitness areas, studios, or other activity areas.
  • No pets are allowed on the premises, except guide dogs.
  • Entry to the Club is only permitted through the Club reception and entrance.
  • Fire exits and safety doors must not be interfered with for any reason.
  • Windows must not be opened unless authorised by a member of staff or in an emergency.
  • The disabled lift is only to be used by members who are unable to use the stairs.
  • In an emergency evacuation, members and guests must immediately leave in an orderly manner via the nearest available exit and assemble at the designated assembly point.
  • Anyone with a temporary or permanent mobility issue must inform reception on arrival so they can be briefed on emergency access and evacuation procedures. Failure to do so may limit the assistance available in an emergency.

6. Health Commitment Statement

  • All new members must complete and sign a Health Commitment Statement upon joining.
  • The purpose of this is to ensure Club staff are fully informed of any medical or physical condition that could affect the member’s ability or suitability to participate in physical activities. This enables staff to assess the member’s health and fitness level and prepare an appropriate fitness programme.
  • The Club strongly recommends that all members seek medical advice before commencing a new exercise programme.
  • The Club reserves the right to request a doctor’s certificate and may reject a membership application if a satisfactory doctor’s certificate is not received by the Club.

7. Behaviour

  • If a member causes nuisance or annoyance to other members, guests, or Club staff, misuses Club facilities, breaches etiquette guidelines, or otherwise behaves inappropriately, the Club reserves the right to refuse admission, suspend, or terminate membership.
  • Abusive language, threatening behaviour, or violent behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • During busy periods, members must be courteous to others when using equipment and should arrange their workout to respect the space and equipment needs of those around them.

8. Photographs & Videos

  • Members must respect the privacy of others when using personal technology within the Club.
  • Anyone appearing in photographs or videos must be aware that they are being filmed and permission must be obtained first.
  • Retrospective consent must also be obtained where someone is accidentally captured, and the image or footage must be deleted where consent is withheld.
  • If a member is unhappy about being filmed and makes a complaint, the Club may ask to see any images taken within the Club and require them to be deleted where appropriate.
  • Filming or photography must stop immediately if requested by a member of Club staff.
  • Zone Fitness may from time to time take photographs or videos to promote the Club through social media or its website. Members should inform a member of staff if they do not wish their image to be used.
  • Photography and filming are strictly prohibited in all changing rooms.
  • Tripods are not permitted anywhere within the gym.

9. Comments & Complaints

  • Comments or complaints should be directed to a member of Club staff.
  • Written complaints must be addressed to a Club Manager.

10. Lost Property

  • All lost property found on the premises must be handed in to Club reception.
  • Items whose ownership cannot be identified will be stored by the Club for 21 days before being disposed of.

11. General

  • No food or drink, alcoholic or otherwise, or illegal substances may be brought into or consumed within the Club or its grounds.
  • Protein or similar products must not be disposed of in sinks or fountains.
  • Anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave the premises.
  • Membership may be terminated if a member’s behaviour poses a safety risk to themselves or others.
  • The Club, including the car park, is a no-smoking environment. This includes e-cigarettes and vapes.
  • Only members aged 16 years and over are permitted to use the facilities.
  • All new members are advised to complete a gym induction.
  • All members must be ready to leave the premises by closing time.

12. WiFi & Internet Usage

  • Members must not visit, view, or download material from any website containing pornographic, abusive, racist, violent, illegal, or otherwise offensive material.
  • Internet access and Club facilities must not be used for illegal activity or anything that Zone Fitness deems inappropriate.

13. Car Park & Bike Shelter

  • Parking is limited to a maximum of three hours.
  • No overnight parking is permitted.
  • All vehicles must be tested and roadworthy.
  • Vehicles over 20 feet in length are prohibited from parking.
  • Vehicles must be parked within designated parking bays only.
  • Vehicles parked in a non-designated space or on a yellow hatched area will receive a ticket.
  • Unauthorised vehicles may be towed and/or fined.
  • All vehicles are parked at the owner’s own risk.
  • The bike shelter access code is available on request from reception.
  • Bikes are stored at the owner’s own risk.
  • Bikes must not be left on the premises overnight.
